FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need to be at the retreat the entire time?
Yes, our training is experiential in nature and most of the work is done with your assigned prayer partner. Your presence in the room is vital, not only for you to get the maximum out of the retreat, but also for others in the room that you will be experiencing the retreat with. If you are unable to make the commitment to attend the retreat in its entirety, we ask that you choose another date that you will be able to attend fully.
Do I have to stay at the hotel?
This varies from event to event based on where it is being held. Some retreats require hotel due to our contract. When possible, we encourage you to stay at the offered hotel both for convenience and also for the overall effectiveness of the training as well. We find when you get away from all the overall distractions of being at home it's easier to focus on and stay connected to what God is doing in you during the retreat. If needed, and to help cover expenses, we can try to connect you with a roommate of the same sex attending your retreat when we are able to do so and if someone with the same request is available. (See registration form for request)
What do I need to bring for the retreat?
We provide all the training materials in the room. We suggest that you bring a journal and a Bible for any additional work outside of the training room. Sometimes the training rooms can become cold. We also suggest that you bring a sweatshirt or a light sweater that you can put on if the room is cold. The dress is casual so dress in a manner that makes you feel comfortable and non-constricting.
What does the cost cover for a Freedom Excursion Retreat?
Training includes weekend retreat, processing fees, and all training materials. All attendees are responsible for travel, hotel and meal expenses, unless otherwise noted at a particular retreat. (Please see the event you're attending for details.)
Will I be in a group with the opposite sex?
Although a majority of your work will be with your same gender, there may be times in a small group setting or large group that you will interact with someone from the opposite sex. We have found that this further aids in the effectiveness of the training when you hear perspectives from the opposite sex. If there is a specific reason why you feel that you cannot be with someone of the opposite sex, please contact our office by phone or email.
Should my spouse attend with me?
This is a question that we get often. This decision is entirely up to you as a couple. Couples are welcome and often encouraged to attend together although you will not be paired together as prayer partners. This is so that each individual can focus solely on their own personal healing. We have found the shared individual experience is often a great bonding for the couple. The tools that one gains at the retreat can be used in the marriage relationship.
What is your cancellation policy?
Payment is non-refundable, however is transferable to another date or individual with a 48-hour cancellation notice (Except in cases of illness and family emergency). All registration must be paid in full upon registration. If there is a need for financial assistance please contact our offices.
Will I be required to share during the weekend?
We do have various opportunities for one on one sharing as well as large and small group sharing. We do not require stories or specific details from a person’s experience. Information is shared at each participant’s own discretion. However, we do encourage every person to be willing to share at some level and with transparency during this weekend. You will only get out of the retreat to the level you are willing to participate. We believe according to James 5:16—Therefore confess your faults to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
What is a Prayer Partner?
You will be assigned a prayer partner for the entire weekend retreat. This is the individual that you will be sharing with during our dialogue exercises. In most cases these are attendees that you will be pre-assigned to. If you have a specific request to be paired with an individual, you can submit that in the comment section of your registration. We will do our best to accommodate your requests.
Is this a faith-based training?
Yes, we are a Christian based ministry. Although we welcome anyone from any background to FE Retreat our entire training is based upon a Biblical world-view and foundation. As human beings, we are made up of three parts, body (our physical man), soul (mind, will & emotions), and spirit (the part of us that communicates with God). We believe that unless you acknowledge all three parts true freedom and healing cannot come. We deal with the spirit part of us, by acknowledging that without God we are unable to truly change on our own.
Is childcare provided?
Although we fully understand the value of family, Unfortunately, at this time Freedom Excursion is unable to provide childcare for our weekend retreat.
COVID -19 PROTOCOLS
In keeping with Governor Abbott’s guidelines in the state of Texas, masks are not required for those attending our Freedom Excursion Retreat at this time. However, if you feel more comfortable with a mask you are welcome to wear one and we will have them available if needed. If guidelines are different in another state where FE is hosting a Retreat in, we will update that event with appropriate guidelines.
Health and safety guidelines for Freedom Excursion Retreat Weekends
Extensive cleaning and disinfecting procedures take place before, during, and after every session. Hand sanitizer stations and masks are also available. We also encourage you to stay home if you have a fever of 100 degrees or above, a cough or sore throat, shortness of breath, body aches, or contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19 (in the past 14 days). Freedom Excursion is unable to refund due to in-cured expenses and conference rentals. However, due to illness or emergency we will gladly use funds toward a future Freedom Excursion Retreat. Keeping our attendees safe is our top priority.
We will notify you and update our website if there are any changes regarding Covid - 19 and any FE Retreat Weekends. If there are any cancelations due to illness of our Ministry Team we will contact you to make future arrangements. Thank you!
